COL Jarrett S. Moffitt

Commander

Colonel Moffitt was commissioned as an Ordnance Officer from the ROTC program at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies.


His military education includes completion of the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains’ Career Course, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer’s Course, Command and General Staff College, the Joint Staff College, and the Army War College. He is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Level III certified in Contracting and Level II certified in Program Management. His advanced civilian education includes a Master’s in Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a Master’s of Science in Construction Management from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the Amy War College.


Colonel Moffitt has held a number of operational and acquisition command and staff positions. His operational assignments include Platoon Leader, Bravo Company 302d Forward Support Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea; Troop Executive Officer and Shop Officer, Maintenance Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, California; Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, National Training Center Materiel Management Center, Fort Irwin, California; Commander 734th Ordnance Company (EOD), White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico including a deployment to Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. He also deployed to Mandali, Iraq as a Logistics Advisor with a military transition team. Colonel Moffitt’s last command assignment was with the 919th Contracting Battalion including a deployment to Baghdad, Iraq supporting OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE.

Colonel Moffitt’s acquisition assignments include Prototyping Branch Chief, 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Bliss, Texas; Team Leader 635th Contingency Contracting Team, Fort Bliss, Texas; Chief, Regional Contracting Center, Kirkuk, Iraq, Joint Contracting Command Iraq/Afghanistan; Team Leader, 677th Contingency Contracting Team, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Executive Officer, 916th Contingency Contracting Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; J3 Director, Joint Theater Support Contracting Command-Afghanistan, Kabul, Afghanistan; Contracting Officer, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; and as the Commander of the 919th Contracting Battalion, Fort Bliss, Texas. He most recently served as the Acting Military Deputy to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Procurement (DASA(P)) at the Pentagon.

His awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with silver oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal. He has also earned the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Army Parachutist Badges.

Colonel Moffitt is married and has two adult children.
