CSM Kimala D. Cox

Command Sergeant Major

CSM Kimala D. Cox was born and raised in Fort Bragg, NC. She joined the U.S. Army in September 1992, completing Basic Combat Training at Ft Jackson, SC and Advance Individual Training at Ft Lee, VA for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 92A Automated Logistical Specialist. In 2006 CSM Cox was assessed into the Contracting Career Field and became a 51C Acquisitions, Logistics, and Technology (AL&T) Contracting Non-commissioned Officer. CSM Cox has served in every leadership position from Squad Leader to Battalion Sergeant Major.

CSM Cox’s previous positions, assignments, and deployments include: Supply Tech, B Co. 710th Main Support Battalion at Fort Drum, NY; Squad Leader, 563rd Ordnance Battalion at Meisau, Germany; Platoon Sergeant, HHC CDC at Fort Bragg, NC, where she deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 04-05 and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 07-08. As an AL&T Contracting NCO CSM Cox has served as: Contract Specialist, 609th Contracting Team at Fort Bragg, NC; Contracting Officer, 900th Contracting Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC; Team NCOIC, 623rd Senior Contracting Team at Vicenza, Italy; Operations NCOIC, 409th Contracting Support Brigade at Sembach, Germany; Operations NCOIC, 408th Contracting Support Brigade at Shaw Air Force Base, SC; Battalion Sergeant Major, 902nd Contracting Battalion at JBLM, WA; and Battalion Sergeant Major for the 923rd Contracting Battalion at Fort Riley, KS.

CSM Cox’s military education includes: PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC, Combat Life Saver Course, and Master Resilience Training Course. She is a graduate of Class 65 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas. CSM Cox holds a DAWIA Level III Certification in Contracting and DAWIA Level 1 Certification in Program Management. Her civilian education includes an Associate Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from University of Maryland University College, and a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster’s University.

CSM Cox’s awards and decorations include: the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Medal (1 star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2 stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 stars), Global War on Terrorism and Global War Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 6), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas ribbon (Numeral 6), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 6) and United Nations Medal. She is also a recipient of the Honorable Quartermaster Order of St. Martin medal.  CSM Cox enjoys attending NFL games, kickboxing and spending quality time with her son.
