COL Freddy L. Adams II


COL Freddy L. Adams  II previously served as the Executive Officer to the Principal Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology).

Prior to this assignment he served as the Commander, Defense Contract Management Agency St. Petersburg FL; Commander, Defense Contract Management Agency – Afghanistan; Executive Officer to the Commanding General, Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas; Chief Plans Officer, 410th Contracting Support Brigade, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas; Regional Contracting Center Deputy Chief, Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan; Contingency Contracting Team leader, 902nd Contingency Contracting Battalion, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; and Operations Team Chief, Defense Contract Management Agency Northern California.  Operational assignments include: Assistant Regimental Engineer, Tank Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion S4, 1/4 Infantry (OPFOR) at Hohenfels, Germany; Squadron Personnel Officer and Troop Commander 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado.

COL Adams has completed four combat tours: Iraq (2003-2004), Iraq (2005-2006), Afghanistan (2011), Afghanistan (2015-2016).

COL Adams was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May 1998 through the United States Military Academy at West Point where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering and Management. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 2010 where he earned a Masters of Business Administration. He is a 2012 graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and a 2017 graduate of the National Defense University Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security & Resource Strategy (Distinguished Graduate). COL Adams is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Level III certified in Contracting and Level I certified in Program Management. He is also a Defense Acquisition Corp Member.

His awards and accolades include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), the Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (Valor device and 2 OLC), National Defense Service Medal (2 OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon (2) and NATO Service Medal. He is also authorized to wear the Combat Action Badge and Airborne Badge.

COL Adams is married and has one child.
