Command Sergeant Major Della Sharee Overton was born and raised in Bishopville, South Carolina by Sarah E. Frazier. She graduated from Bishopville High School in June of 1996. After completion of high school, she entered the United States Army on 12 August 1996. She completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Lee, Virginia, were she was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 92L, which is a Petroleum Laboratory Specialist. She transitioned to the 51C NCO on 02 November 2010.

CSM Overton has also been awarded the Fort Lee NCO of the Quarter Award, 408th NCO of the Year, and runner-up to ECC NCO of the Year. She is a recipient of the Honorable Order of Saint Martin and the US Army Logistician Demonstrated Senior Logistician Designation. She is also a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC), where she served in all positions, from PAO to President. She currently holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Grantham University, Alabama (Summa Cum Laude). She also holds the Level III Contracting Certification.
CSM Overton is married and has four children.
